Case Study: Caio Piscotta – Rekindling the Fire and Finding a Home at Menlo College
Caio Piscotta’s journey is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to chase what you love. Originally from Brazil, Caio had moved to Orlando, Florida and was attending a regular college—not as a student-athlete, just a student. He had grown up playing tennis and always loved the sport, but he stepped away from it when he started college. For two years, he focused on his studies and life in the U.S.—until something started to shift.
Caio realized how much he missed the game. The structure, the competition, the passion—it was all still there, just waiting to be reignited. That’s when he reached out to us.
At that time, Caio didn’t have a current ranking or UTR, but we saw the spark and believed in his potential. We gave him a roadmap: suggested tournaments to play, training plans to follow, and the steps he needed to take to get his game back to where it had been.
And he did exactly that.
After months of work, Caio’s UTR climbed back up and he was ready. From there, we began reaching out to schools that matched his academic goals and his athletic level. We cast a wide net—contacting D2, D3, and NAIA schools—to make sure he had great options across the board.
Eventually, one school stood out above the rest: Menlo College in California.
Menlo, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, was the perfect blend of everything Caio was looking for. The school is in the process of transitioning from NAIA to NCAA Division II, offering both strong academics and growing athletic ambition. The coach was fantastic—motivated, supportive, and fully invested in helping Caio continue his tennis comeback. The location, the culture, and the opportunity felt exactly right.
Now committed to Menlo, Caio is not only back on the court, but doing it in a place that inspires him every day. He’s surrounded by a great team, living in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, and thriving in both school and sport.
Thinking of making a comeback?
Whether you’re returning to tennis or just starting to dream about college sports, we’ll help you build your path—just like we did for Caio.
